EJ's Baptism

We are so proud of our EJ for deciding to be baptized. It has been such a special experience teaching her and helping her get ready for this day.  I love to see her little bud of a testimony as it grows and blossoms and see her know and understand when she feels the spirit.  She has surprised me with her ability to understand the choice she is making and Gospel principles.
She was baptized on conference Saturday, so it was a little crazy to welcome Grandpa and get everyone ready in time, but we made it- special hair do's and all (braided bun for EJ, straightened hair for Birdy).
We got to the church and took these family pictures, and then Daddy and EJ changed. You can't see it in the picture above, but she is so excited she is standing on her tip-toes. You can tell how excited she is by looking at her face.
Then it was time to quietly (or, as quietly as possible with Bear around) wait for the talks and the baptism.  The baptism itself was lovely. EJ went first (another girl was baptized the same day) and she did a good job.  Bear helped out by cheering from the sidelines "Good Job Dad!  Yaaayyy!"  For the rest of the talks and confirmations, he kept saying "I get baptized? I want baptized! Bear's turn baptized" and trying to take off his shirt. I guess he thought playing in the big tub looked like lots of fun.
This picture is EJ with her primary teacher who gave a great talk, and our Bishop.
Two squeaky-clean, beautiful, newly baptized girls! After the baptism, EJ was exuberant and so happy. She said that she felt happy, silly, excited and all jumbled up inside :)
After the baptism, we went to our Vietnamese place for more Pho!

So proud of that girl! Smart mama to do the bun thing instead of trying to dry all that hair afterward :-) I love her dress, too.
