He choose Fat Cow pulled pork as his birthday dinner. We love their pulled pork, but we really love Rudy's Sause (yep, that's how it's spelled). He also got some special, gourmet root beer, chips and a clementine.
As a special birthday treat, he got a Fat Jap. It's a horrible name for the best food ever. It is a jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and pulled pork, and then wrapped in Bacon. It is seriously SOOOO perfectly yummy! We had an added birthday surprise when the Fire Truck Santa visited our street! Our Fire Dept. takes Santa around in one of their truck to every neighborhood and street in town and he waves and throws candy to all the kids. We were lucky enough that DMP's birthday was also the day Fire Truck Santa visited! Bear still says "Fire Truck Santa?!?" every time he hears sirens! As a side note- it's NOT a good idea to run to the corner to see if Fire Truck Santa is coming down your street if you just ate 1 and 1/2 Fat Japs...Here is Daddy with the finished birthday cake creation. All Bear could talk about for a week before Daddy's Birthday was "Birthday Fire! Blow it out! Daddy's gonna have Birthday Fire". I guess that was the most memorable part of his 2nd Birthday.
We decided to only use 1/2 of the number of candles in the name of fire safety (although, I bet Fire Truck Santa would have rescued us!). All the kids helped Daddy blow out his candles. It was a good birthday all around!
