| Unfortunately, the appeal of this drug trip extends beyond the baby... |
Every day I bless and curse Yo Gabba Gabba. It is a blessing, because it entertains Bear for more than 1 second (no judgement- sometimes you have to unload the dishwasher without the baby playing with the knives...). However, I'm convinced that even if it doesn't make him dumber, it will definately skew his taste in music.
Yo Gabba Gabba is the show created just for hipster kids. There are all kinds of ironic hipster "cool" things, and little hipster kids with names like "Xanthe" and "Xoe" dancing. They feature all kinds of indie bands in their "super music friend time". All of this crazy is presided over by a skinny black dude with an orange q-tip hat.
And lets talk for a minute about the crappy synthesizer music. It is everywhere and I'm afraid my son will never be the same. We were in Bath and Body works and he busted out dancing to some 80's synthesizer pop music. It is hard to get this kid to dance at home to anything (except the Gabba Gabba theme song). We're hoping we can find a replacement show soon! I keep trying :)
There is one other thing that almost makes Gabba Gabba worth it. Every time the opening song plays, Bear is compelled to put his arms in the air and say "Gabba Gabba". The enthusiasim varies depending on the day and time, but he always does it. In fact, it is how he lets me know he wants to watch it. It is pretty cute as you can see on the two videos below (taken on my phone's camera, so kind of bad quality).

How can you deny that cute boy anything at all? Looks like he's getting so big. Can't wait to see you all this summer!
It made me laugh to watch him get ready to throw his arms in the air in the second video. He was totally anticipating the moment and preparing himself!
