Our calerpidders (as the girls called them) finally turned into butterflies and Friday was the day to release them into the wild. One even stuck around and allowed DMP to hold it.
See? here is what the icky things turned into! Beautiful Painted Lady butterflies!
Birdy was brave (and still) enough to hold it on her finger, too!
It stayed for a long time and didn't want to fly away- even when she "tossed" it in the air! 
In all, it was a fun family science project. We still have the butterfly enclosure if you want to try it for yourself!

Looks like it was a successful project. Your girls are growing up so fast! They're gorgeous.
What a great experience. I want a post about "Born Free" for the previous post with all those kids in the cage. Did they get a glorious release as well??? ;-)
