One of the things we love most about our new house is all the big, beautiful trees. We knew that when be bought the house that would mean lots of big, beautiful fall leaves to rake. We underestimated just how *much* raking there would be!
We took advantage of the nice warm Saturday right after thanksgiving to clean up the yard. We were really, really good at making piles, and less good at bagging them :)
It only took the girls a couple of hours to stop protesting, whining and complaining and eventually they had fun (or as much fun as you can have during hours of raking!)
Bear was an effective tool for squishing leaves down. He was our most cheerful and willing worker, even if he wasn't the most effective!
Poor, poor Rosie had to watch from behind the screen door. Are we so mean? You might ask yourself? Nope- she chewed through her leash earlier in the day after we tied her to a tree so she was grounded!
DMP is so awesome that he hung our first-ever Christmas lights on our house as an encore! He is a great guy and it is a good thing he did- we didn't have any warm Saturdays after that!
