We got to spend Christmas Eve in Heber with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Kate, Uncle Matt, Amelia, Uncle Jeff, and Uncle Brad. It was fun- lots of food, visiting, food, playing and more good food.We started the afternoon off with what is becoming our annual christmas cookie decorating. It was fun and everyone got "into" it. Because we used leftover halloween candy from the Halloween Fairy stash (the "good stuff" like small candy bars re-emerge as candy in stockings) Uncle Matt got to try a bunch of "American" candy like whoppers, nerds, and smarties. Amelia got to suck on the wrappers. Next visit we'll have to sugar her up right (which would be sweet revenge given that Matt fed Birdy and EJ all they candy they desired :))
Decorating the cookies takes a lot of concentration and precision (and frosting eating). But don't let this serious face fool you- she didn't manage to decorate more than one cookie, but she DID eat most of the pink frosting.
After much eating of good food. We retired to the living room to read the scriptures about Jesus' birth. It was great and the girls listened pretty well. Then it was time for the (now) annual live nativity story performance. It was way better than last year because we had more actors!
This year's cast featured Mommy as the Donkey (and Shepard) EJ as Mary, Birdy as the Angel, DMP as Joseph, Amelia as baby Jesus, and Matt, Dad and Uncle Jeff as the three wise men.

I sure hope you saved me one of those cookies! looks like you guys had fun.
Awww, what a fun time! I love Amelia's face as she's staring at all the goodies!
It was the best! I wonder if Matt thinks we are all certifiably nuts!
He does...but in a good way! Actually we were going over our videos that we took and were laughing over that one just the other night.
Thanks for a great Christmas Eve!
